The Balanh Beauty Team
Uprooted by a DA selected military assignment, my family abruptly moved from Colorado to Virginia… not knowing anyone (never had this West Coast girl been to the East Coast.) Shortly after, I made a life changing decision that resulted in me becoming a single Mom with my 6-year old son. Working with Department of Defense, I anxiously awaited my job transfer to come through…I was navigating how I would feed my son. My pure grit and intuition pushed me to fall back on what I knew best, my 20 years of experience in the beauty industry.
August 2018
Noticing the absence of Estheticians and luxury artistry services in my area - such as Lash Extensions and Lash Lifts - I saw the need and the demand and went all in to supply it. I used every nonexistent dime I had to get licensed, insured, and credentialed to operate this new leap of faith while still enrolling into Nursing school to hopefully one day be an Aesthetic Injector.
September 2018
I rented a shared 50-sq ft utility room in a salon and Balanh Beauty Lash Extensions was born! On October 13, 2018, my third client launched me into this amazing community with her raving review on social media. The review was met with an incredible surge instantaneously. I was relentless in securing a financial foundation for my son and I. I would take new client after new client when my son was at school and stocked groceries at the commissary until the dusk hours while he was asleep.

I could no longer occupy and share such a confined space, I was elated at the opportunity to move to another salon at a bigger 90-sq ft space and be able to quit stocking groceries.
January 2019
I was thriving and so grateful that six months from opening I had built a solid reputation with nearly 75 clients, servicing them every two weeks. I was at capacity and could afford to close my books. When I originally opened, I would drive home daily passing a medical building that had a sign for 'space for rent', I was determined to get there!
April 2019
The business was growing rapidly out of the space that I grew to love, and my ambitious spirit knew what I have been manifesting needed to come to fruition. With every fear, I prayed about it and leaned into that fear. I went to that medical building and signed a commercial lease for 1,000-sq ft.
May 2019
I had my new space completely renovated, took occupancy, and deep-sea dived into my other passion, interior design. A personalized, niche boutique feel that was elevated, educated, yet 'please, sit with us' chill.
Through the years I tried and tried to build a team. The timing wasn't in alignment and I vibed alone for awhile - and while I enjoyed it I always longed to cultivate my brand into something that would allow me to serve the community more. With so much ideating and hope, the time has arrived. Balanh Beauty had evolved into a boutique Med Spa!
September 2019
NP Stephanie, now my Lead Aesthetic Injector, took her first client in our Med Spa...again something that I dreamed of and that we have spoken of for a few years. I have now brought on licensed professionals that are able to provide day spa services that compliment our artistry services. A beauty destination where you feel seen, heard, and felt with the attention to detail, inclusive warmth, and intention of self care.
